I like how they are showing Bruce’s mental anguish and exhaustion. Knightfall pushed Batman to his limits physically before Bane broke him physically. The quake is pushing him to his limits mentally and emotionally. And we need to wonder will this break his spirit. If he can’t save his city can he still be the hero he needs himself to be. He searched for strength from his surrogate father, his current love interest, and from the source of his determination, his parents graves. He can be seen as close to breaking.
