After a year of delays… it’s finally time to meet, well – whoever these Children of the Atom turn out to be!

In this opening chapter, we get elbows deep into the mystery of who… and/or what these characters might end up being!  Are the Chimeras?  Are the high on MGH?  Are they just really good Cosplayers?

… and how come they changed the last page of this issue when it published digitally?  I make a lot of wild theories… and I’d love to hear yours as well!

This was a fun one. Vita Ayala is an amazing writer and they clearly love their x-trivia. This makes me think about all the mutant-ish groups from over the years that these children could actually be. The most obvious option is the Inhumans but they could be Neo or MGH users or escaped science experiments or Skrulls or time-travelling Chimeras or Eternals. They could have been created by Mad Jim Jaspers or Mr Sinister or that weirdo Jamie Braddock or Dark Beast. There are so many permutations. I hope they're not robots or clones but who knows. My money is on the old Mojo/Spiral partnership. I'll definitely be there to find out whatever happens.

In addition to the suits from New Warriors and MGH, it also made me think of the process created by Stark or Pym that gave powers to regular people in the short-lived The Order series. I think it was a genetic virus or something equally nightmarish-sounding. Oh those wacky Avengers!
