Your feeling that this plotline has been truncated is very much a forecast for the next issue which is exceptionally dense. In fact Paul O'Brien (of X-Axis) shared a screenshot of Leah Williams saying she discovered X-Factor was being cancelled with issue 10 whilst writing 9 as part of his review of issue 9. It's very upsetting to me that such a great book is being cancelled. I hope Williams and Baldeon get to continue working together for the x-books but whatever they do I will be buying it. They made me care about Daken, that's a miracle of comics storytelling.
