Waiter, there’s a clone in my dumpling!

Today, Kid Cable dines with Domino… and has a fairly crazy family reunion.

We’re talking clones… which means, I’m going to be talking a lot.

Please listen anyway!

Hi Chris, I'm back time-travelling through your old episodes as I catch up on Marvel Unlimited. I've had a bit of a hectic time of it recently so I'm behind even in terms of Marvel Unlimited.

I don't know if I'm just having a bit of a stupid day but I really did not notice that the kidnapper was meant to be another Cable until way after it was revealed. In fact I had to turn back a few pages to reread the relevant bit again. You definitely are right to call out the fact that the middle-aged clones don't look remotely like Cable. It should have been guessable.

There was some interesting stuff in your discussion of clone resurrection. I do wonder if we are meant to see Domino's change of attitude to killing being because they are clones of Cable and therefore mutants rather than human. Ultimately Krakoans are allowed to kill anyone who could be resurrected. The exception for the Cuckoos does imply that an exception would be made for Scout. They're not on the Quiet Council but I'm sure having 2 Wolverines (Logan and Laura) in your corner would help. It feels more and more that the refusal to resurrect Madelyne is personal and the clone thing is just an excuse a bit like the No Humans rule only comes into play for Juggernaut.

Ultimately I find myself wondering why Cable and Domino automatically viewed their foes as clones of Cable. Surely they could actually be clones of Stryfe. Can they tell the difference. Also, why have clones got the symptoms of the techno-organic virus? Are their metal parts T/O? We all keep wondering how Warlock will relate to Moira's plans but what about Cable?

Overall, though, I really enjoyed this issue. I was delighted to see Domino being fun again (but I am now craving chicken gyoza with sweet chilli sauce). By the way, Domino didn't share perspective destroying huge baths with Cable back in the day – that was actually Copycat/Vanessa. Domino was chained up in a European castle throughout that period.

Anyway until Marvel start shipping their comics with a box of dumplings, Make Mine X-Lapsed!
