Today we wrap up the New Mutants “A” storyline, reuniting bird-person child with (death)bird-person aunt… and finally plant our Krakoan seed in Shi’ar Space! Also: A strange Dungeons and Dragons-style battle – complete with your humble host rolling virtual dice! A fun issue… though, depending on your mileage – perhaps a hair too “cute” in the Deadpooly sort of way. Lemme know your thoughts!

This was such a fun comic but it is tinged by sadness knowing that it's Jonathan Hickman's last issue of New Mutants. I love the playfulness of this storyline. I also like the way the text pages and recaps are used to add more story.
I also have to take a moment to praise Rod Reis again. The whole book looks amazing. There are so few artists who can draw conversation with the same dynamism as fight scenes but Reis is one.
Outstanding.
