You really don't like Batroc the leaper, do you? I am in that group that unironically loves lame villains. I'm not surprised Shaw employed Batroc as Shaw is also a lame villain.

Rereading along with you I can see how Emma's behaviour could come across as cruel. This is clearly a continuation of the storyline from the X-Men Black one-off where they presented Emma and Shaw's past relationship as abusive and Emma's reclaiming of the Hellfire Club as a victory. You should look it up as it's drawn by Chris Bachalo who you clearly love.

You immediately picked up on the first Jewish error I was referencing. There is another one coming which I think you'll also guess. I suppose it could be argued that Kitty is reacting to the death of her father figure and therefore breaking her faith but the fact that Bishop on panel references tattooing as a mark he was given in a prison camp would imply that it was due to her Jewish identity being forgotten by the creative team. My understanding is that the Jewish taboo of tattooing is down to the use of tattoos in the holocaust so I would expect the Kitty shown memoralising her relatives who died in the holocaust in Uncanny 199 to not get a tattoo. It was the first on panel emotional reaction to Xavier's death, though, which is interesting.

I work retail and I have had stand-ups practice on me because I'm a captive audience so it turns out that despite my Excalibur feedback Britain and America are not that different.

They're heavily leaning into Pyro acting recklessly with the tattoo. I do like the idea that realising he was only resurrected because no one cared if it went wrong would affect him, but he's almost cartoonish.

As you say it's no surprise when Kitty becomes Red Queen. There are surprises to come. I was particularly excited by the choice of White Knight.

Looking forward to your next episode.
