The #EcksofTens sword-hunt continues… this time taking Storm (and us) to Wakanda for the Skybreaker.  It’s a story of sorta-kinda political intrigue – where the very valid question of Krakoan “ethnocentrism” is raised.  We’ll definitely be talking about that!

Also: Our always X-Cellent and thought-provoking Mailbag… in X-Tended form!

Absolutely loved this issue. Since episode 1 I have been complaining about how Storm has been presented. She is probably my favourite X-Man and she has been terribly underwritten. Even when they did a storyline about her (in the Giant Sized X-Men) she was barely present. Finally with this issue she is back. What I was particularly impressed with was the fact that Vita Ayala dealt with the worst element of Storm's continuity in her marriage to T'Challa and made it seem like something Storm would do. It truly was impressive work. Continuity works best when it is used to inform character and future motivation. The events of this issue do lead Storm into new stories post X of Tens and it's great to see genuine character development happening in a crossover. I was particularly impressed with Vita Ayala this issue and I am so glad that they are taking over New Mutants after X of Tens. Imagine what they can achieve combined with Rod Reis.

I think I mentioned in my last feedback that I was going to drop X of Tens after the Muramasa story but I'd already bought this issue so I thought I may as well read it. I was immediately back in. This is a perfect example of what great crossover stories do. They use the event as a backdrop to show you what the characters are about.

Anyway until the collective Marvel Universe stops falling in love with Storm, Make Mine X-Lapsed!
