As we reach the 1/11th point of this massive crossover event, your humble host’s barometer moves from “neutral” to “positive” – as what we get here is a wonderfully solid bit of storytelling that really amps up the threat… and includes something these books have been missing since the get-go: actual STAKES!

The Resurrection Protocols and yours truly have the same problem, and it’s name is “Otherworld”!  We’re gonna talk a LOT about that… as well as the Father-Daughter relationship between a couple of magnetic personalities, and much, much more!

Also – The always X-Cellent Mailbag!  Some great discussions to be had here – and I do so hope you’ll join in on the fun!

Plus – The opportunity for you (yes, YOU) to guide the X-Men into their next phase… as Marvel.com is currently holding an election wherein WE the readers can choose the final member of the new X-Men team!  Vote runs from today until February 2!  Be sure your voice is heard — and also, mebbe let your pal Chris know who you voted for!

This issue is so good. I loved it. It was such a good idea for the resurrection protocols to be removed to add extra stakes to the crossover.

I was particularly happy with Lorna's characterisation and that leads directly into my X-Men vote. Marvel have been releasing the votes so far and Polaris is in the lead with Banshee coming second. They have announced that whoever wins will only appear in X-Men so ultimately I have to decide whether to vote for Polaris to move to X-Men where she will be written as she was in X-Men 1 and X of Tens Creation or, I can vote for the character in second place in the hope that she continues to be written as well as in X-Factor 4.

    I voted for Banshee.

Ultimately I could justify that by arguing that interesting stories could come from Moira's ex being an X-Man but I did it in an attempt to stop Hickman writing Polaris. I'll probably be disappointed.

In reality the character on that list that I am the biggest fan of is Boom Boom but I really don't want to see more of her current characterisation. Can you imagine how bad that would be? The writer of Petra and Sway getting ahold of Boom Boom. No, thank you.

Anyway, until Krakoa wins Britain in Bloom, Make Mine X-Lapsed!
