Hello friends – today we take a sorta-kinda pitstop over to a sorta-kinda “unofficial” chapter of Dawn of X… in, of all things, an issue of Deadpool (vol.8)!  What happens when Wade feels like he’s being left out of the X-Men’s reindeer games?  Well, he does exactly what your humble host does when he feels the same way – he pouts a bunch!

Trust me, it’s a lot funnier than I’m making it sound… this issue is an absolute delight, and if you’re following the Dawn of X books – you need this one as part of your “current year” library!

Plus: #XLapsed100 missives and much more in our mailbag!

My story with Deadpool is very different to yours as this is the first issue of Deadpool that I have ever read. I have read lots of Deadpool stories starting with his first appearance but this was a first.

Kelly Thompson is a weird writer for me as everything I have read with her name on has been good but she always seems to be given books I have no interest in. I enjoyed this book but I'm not going to read her entire Deadpool run because I have so many books I want to read on my reading pile. Not to mention all the backlog of reading I have to do to get into your weekend podcasts. I'm keeping them all in wait for when I finally get ahead of things. This means you'll probably get random messages from me about Major X-Lapsed in 2030.

Jeff was the best character in this issue but I was also impressed that all the characters were behaving logically. It makes sense for the X-Men to not want Deadpool on Krakoa and it makes sense that he would be hurt by that. It was also a good choice for Thompson to choose Emma to talk to Wade on behalf of the Quiet Council. Having the entire council there would have meant a lot of extra drama that she didn't need.

So until Wade Wilson becomes President of the United States, Make Mine X-Lapsed!
