Did I just enjoy an issue of Wolverine? I'm slightly worried that this might be a sign of the end of the World.
Let's start at the beginning with the amazing first 3 pages. Adam Kubert is a genuine comics genius. He started strong and he just gets better and better. What I love is even at his most creative he always puts the storytelling first. He really might be becoming my favourite Kubert, even surpassing his father. I suppose he is now at the age Joe was in the early 80s so we shouldn't be surprised at his technical prowess.
The appearance of villains from all over the Marvel Universe was fun. It's rare for this sort of cameo to pop up now that Marvel is so segmented. I love the playful side of super-hero comics but it seems like that is now relegated to books like Gwenpool rather than occasionally popping up everywhere. I was slightly disappointed by the mundanity of the artefacts for sale in the auction. I think they could have gone a bit crazier and brought out some deeper cuts. Overall it was a great little story. It is maybe a little unfair but I find myself wondering how Benjamin Percy will ruin it in the next issue.
Anyway, until Wolverine subsidises his lifestyle by e-Baying his body parts, Make Mine X-Lapsed.
