We finally reach the end of our Empyre-sploitation… the miniseries I thought would never end.  Today’s episode and issue sees Explodey Boy talking to himself… and several pages devoted to Doctor Strange calling the Scarlet Witch an idiot.

At least it’s over…

Well that was the best issue of the series which may be damning with faint praise. As you said the scene between the two explodey boys was the best part of the issue. Explodey Boy feels like an attempt to come up with a superhero name that a teenager would pick. Sadly it doesn't really work, it ends up reflecting Bob Haney's use of teenage slang in those old Teen Titans. It's painful.

Jonathan Hickman is not funny. He needs telling. The Maddrox scene doesn't work as humour and it doesn't work as drama. It's really distasteful.

In conclusion I will never read this series again but I think you are slightly unfair to it by saying it's worse than Fallen Angels.
